Blair has now been back in the United States for a bit more than three weeks. She is working hard on her startup and also dealing with the (unexpected) consequences of reverse culture shock.
We discuss how culture shock itself should be relatively easy to deal with when you leave your home country to go live somewhere else. Your expectations are that everything will be different anyway, so when things ARE different, it is not that shocking.
But coming home is always hard. All of the things you have taken for granted as being ‘normal’ now seem a bit foreign. All of the things you expected to be the same upon return are now different.
